The Planet and EV1Servers today announced the selection of two new members of the executive leadership team. Kevin Klausmeyer is named chief financial officer and Joseph Horzepa joins the company as general counsel. Additionally, the company announced it is restructuring its product-level customer service to focus on enhancing each business division.
"We're moving forward at full speed and our executive team is poised to take this company to the next level," said Douglas J. Erwin, chairman and CEO. "I've had the pleasure of working with both Kevin and Joseph in the past and I am confident they will exceed our expectations."
With more than 25 years of proven success in finance and accounting leadership from start-ups to Fortune 1000 companies, Klausmeyer joins the company from RLX Technologies, Inc. where he served as CFO. Prior to that, he was CFO of PentaSafe Security Technologies, Inc. Both previous companies were led by Erwin and were acquired by Hewlett Packard and NetIQ, respectively. Klausmeyer was previously vice president and chief accounting officer at BMC Software, during a six year period of explosive internal growth and growth through acquisitions. Prior to BMC, Klausmeyer spent 13 years in public accounting with Arthur Andersen LLP. While at Andersen, Klausmeyer served primarily high-growth technology companies. For seven years through its 2005 dissolution, Klausmeyer served as one of the three industry representatives on the AICPA's Software Revenue Recognition Task Force. The Task Force interpreted and provided guidance to the software industry on the U.S authoritative software revenue accounting rules. Klausmeyer is currently on the board of Quest Software, an enterprise software company based in Aliso Viejo, California, where he is chairman of the Quest Audit Committee. Klausmeyer graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Texas.
Horzepa has a proven record of helping companies manage growth through the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) process. He brings extensive experience in financings, capital markets transactions, M&A, technology licensing, corporate governance and employment matters. Previously, Horzepa co-founded Horzepa Spiegel & Associates, a private firm specializing in corporate law. Prior to founding the firm, he served as general counsel for a number of emerging private companies in high tech markets, including PentaSafe Security Technologies Inc., BBS Technologies Inc., and Paymetric Inc. Horzepa is a graduate of Wesleyan University and a cum laude graduate of Brooklyn Law School and is licensed to practice law in Texas and New York.
Additionally, the company will soon roll out a new product management structure wherein an increased focus will be implemented toward specific customer needs within particular product offerings. Every department will be led by a dedicated manager that is strengthened with more tools, training and support, which will lead to a higher level of customer service within each product category.
